In issue 3 we did a 12 page feature on Alien Sex Fiend Art. It’s a little known fact is that Nik Fiend does all the art for the ASF records. Although Alien Sex Fiend art has defined the creepy, campy visual counterpart to the batcave, deathrock, goth and gothabilly music movements, most people are still in the dark about exactly how much credit Nik deserves. It was a dark and rainy October evening of 1998. My doorbell rang and I opened the door. It was my neighbor Max, he brought me an audiotape. “Listen to it,” he said, “you will like it. It’s a kinda crazy rock-n-roll.” After listening for awhile I knew that this “crazy rock-n-roll” I was definitely impressed by the psychobilly songs, and a compilation that changed my life was called “1st Psychoattack Over Europe”… That was the intro.
